    Philosophy and spirit of yoga module

    This portion of the course is going to reveal more than you ever even thought there was to Yoga! You’re understanding of why, how, and what we call Yoga will be amplified. Ram will be teaching you the most important and relevant ancient texts of India that show the bigger spiritual picture of Yoga and how to live in it. Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras will be examined carefully as this masterpiece provides a clear view into the nature of Mind, self-discipline, and the path to Enlightenment. The Bhagavad Gita will be studied as a means for understanding Dhamma, or our sacred duty in the world. Sanskrit, the language of Yoga, will be explored as you hear and recite different mantras and sutras which invoke the wisdom of sages and the empowering vibrations of the Sanskrit alphabet. This bridge of spoken Sanskrit will lead you into energetic practices, really experiencing what the ancient Yogis of India have blessedly passed down to us. Pranayama, methods of controlling and moving energy, will be taught and practiced regularly, as well as group singing in the Kirtan. Pranayama can greatly increase the power of our discipline and our bodies. The Kirtan experience helps us dissolve into the heart of the human spirit, singing together as one group, no thoughts, just our voices and the music.

    Anatomy and therapy of yoga module

    These practical based sessions, aim at introducing the Anatomy and Physiology that relate to Yoga. Basic anatomical structures and definition of terms will be introduced, followed by practical sessions on the various joints that are most prone to injuries in Yoga. It is the aim of this session to reduce the likelihood of injuries in the vertebral column, knee joint complex, hip joint, shoulder girdle and pelvic girdle. Constraints due to individual structural variations and how these would affect asana performance will also be discussed. Anatomy session will not be completed unless you can put your knowledge into practice and application. The Applied Anatomy training is focused on how to adjust clients and / or using Yoga props, based on the understanding of joint structures and the analysis of the asanas. To perfect student’s understanding, the Anatomy & Physiology session also includes the basic physiology of the respiratory system and digestive system. Understanding these internal dynamic movements leads the practitioner to a more profound energetic practice as you learn how to develop greater lung capacity and refine your awareness of Bandha.

    Marketing and business of yoga module

    Are you a kind, good hearted and open minded person, but sometimes intimidated by all the competition out there? I also had all these doubts when I started out… This portion of the course will teach you how to work less, and earn more. We will teach you how to network, create useful contacts, present yourself and market yourself as a teacher or future studio owner. We will give you tips on how to create teacher bios, workshop descriptions and how to get your first yoga job, or get a better job if you are already teaching an occasional class. We will teach you about pricing and marketing, and about how to grow into teaching workshops, retreats and international events! We will give you all the info you need to present yourself to the world in the appropriate manner to follow your dreams and reach your goals. We did it, so can You!!!

    Yoga in action module

    This program is about embarking on a journey of self-inquiry, with the support of a like-minded group, that leads to action within our community and outside world. “Action” can be many things, ranging from healing relationships with family and friends, to extending oneself to the larger community, or doing national or international work. The main intention is to understand the nature of our interdependence and our unique role in the web of life: to feel significant and as a part of this greater whole. This is the embodiment of Karma Yoga and also Dhamma, or self-less service and the fulfilling of your duty in this life. During this week, you will be guided through an intensive transformational process using vinyasa flow yoga and other tools to uncover your deepest passions and motivation. We will combine yoga asanas, meditation and visualization, experiential exercises, process work and ritual with the practical tools of communication, organizing, and collaborating with your peers. We will also introduce practical methods for each of you to begin to bring your own unique purpose into the world as action with the support and inspiration of your community. You’ll leave with a clearer sense of purpose and passion, armed with skills to help you be a more effective leader and agent of change in the world.

The concept of “evolution of yoga” is based on the notion that everything in the world evolves constantly, including human beings. Our primary goal as a human race and that of any living organism is evolution, and yoga can be seen as a tool to facilitate such evolution in any given individual.     Philosophy and spirit of yoga module

    This portion of the course is going to reveal more than you ever even thought there was to Yoga! You’re understanding of why, how, and what we call Yoga will be amplified. Ram will be teaching you the most important and relevant ancient texts of India that show the bigger spiritual picture of Yoga and how to live in it. Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras will be examined carefully as this masterpiece provides a clear view into the nature of Mind, self-discipline, and the path to Enlightenment. The Bhagavad Gita will be studied as a means for understanding Dhamma, or our sacred duty in the world. Sanskrit, the language of Yoga, will be explored as you hear and recite different mantras and sutras which invoke the wisdom of sages and the empowering vibrations of the Sanskrit alphabet. This bridge of spoken Sanskrit will lead you into energetic practices, really experiencing what the ancient Yogis of India have blessedly passed down to us. Pranayama, methods of controlling and moving energy, will be taught and practiced regularly, as well as group singing in the Kirtan.     Anatomy and therapy of yoga module

    These practical based sessions, aim at introducing the Anatomy and Physiology that relate to Yoga. Basic anatomical structures and definition of terms will be introduced, followed by practical sessions on the various joints that are most prone to injuries in Yoga. It is the aim of this session to reduce the likelihood of injuries in the vertebral column, knee joint complex, hip joint, shoulder girdle and pelvic girdle. Constraints due to individual structural variations and how these would affect asana performance will also be discussed. Anatomy session will not be completed unless you can put your knowledge into practice and application. The Applied Anatomy training is focused on how to adjust clients and / or using Yoga props, based on the understanding of joint structures and the analysis of the asanas. To perfect student’s understanding, the Anatomy & Physiology session also includes the basic physiology of the respiratory system and digestive system. Understanding these internal dynamic movements leads the practitioner to a more profound energetic practice as you learn how to develop greater lung capacity and refine your awareness of Bandha.

    Marketing and business of yoga module

    This program is about embarking on a journey of self-inquiry, with the support of a like-minded group, that leads to action within our community and outside world. “Action” can be many things, ranging from healing relationships with family and friends, to extending oneself to the larger community, or doing national or international work. The main intention is to understand the nature of our interdependence and our unique role in the web of life: to feel significant and as a part of this greater whole. This is the embodiment of Karma Yoga and also Dhamma, or self-less service and the fulfilling of your duty in this life. During this week, you will be guided through an intensive transformational process using vinyasa flow yoga and other tools to uncover your deepest passions and motivation. MEDITATION RETREAT

The Vikasa Meditation and Yoga Retreat is the perfect fusion of physical and mental exercise. Re-balance body and mind.
Yoga – the training of body awareness and keep to balance the body and mind. At the end of the path is the meditation. We can say that Yoga is a kind of preparation for meditation. Simple and complex exercises help the body to keep it healthy and flexible. A healthy body is a prerequisite for a balanced mind.

In that retreat we practice twice a day yoga of different styles: Hatha, Asthanga and of course Vikasa. The yoga classes are structured so that they are suitable for beginners and advanced students.

Meditation will allow our mind to experience an oasis of peace and love within our heart and mind. No one can control eradicate adversity in life but you can master the way you respond in regards to your thinking processes. You learn how  to take control and master your mind through different meditation techniques, we gonna teach you.

TEACHER PROFILE


Konstantin Miachin is the founder of Vikasa Yoga and an international teacher. He has been passionately learning, practicing, and teaching Yoga since 2004, and his passion has lead him to search out his own personal development throughout the world. Kosta’s years of worldly experience have led to deeper understanding of yoga as a personal journey and spiritual evolution. On his journey he spent months in the ashrams of the remote Himalayan mountains, trained in a Muay Thai Boxing camp, was initiated by the master monk and has undergone a sacred Sak-Yant ceremony in a temple in North-East Thailand, practiced yoga everywhere and found his true passion in Koh Samui, Thailand.  Konstantin has completed teacher trainings and is certified in 4 different schools: Yoga 23 (Ukraine), Sivananda (India), Ashtanga Vinyasa (Thailand) and Andiappan Yoga (Hong Kong). Such an overwhelming wealth of knowledge has led to a deeper understanding of yoga practice as an ever evolving process – rather than a finalized system and the concept of “Evolution of Yoga” was born.


Bettina Maul is a registered Yoga teacher and Reiki master with a deep rooting in Vipassana meditation. She mainly teaches Akanda Yoga and Hatha Yoga (Flow) classes. Betti has studied and practiced yoga for more than 10 years in diverse styles and at different settings in Europe and all over Asia. Believing that one of the essential parts of yoga is meditation, she developed broad experience in several meditation techniques. Having an extensive corporate background at several international companies, she knows that integrating yoga into your demanding daily life can be quite a challenge! So she will not only help you to relax and unwind during sessions, but also show you how to build a daily practice for a balanced and healthy life at home. Yoga has been an essential tool in her journey, and one that she is passionate about sharing with others.


Craig Proctor is living on Koh Samui and has had over 20 years experience with teaching yoga to share. His spiritual practice began at age 12 when he was taught to meditate by his grandfather. He began practicing yoga when he was 20 in 1989. In 1990 he discovered Ashtanga Yoga with Robert Lucas,    the first Ashtanga yoga practitioner in Australia. Craig’s studies have led him to various teachers around Australia and India including Sri K Pattabhi Jois, and Sharat Rangaswamy. His Asana practice was refined with Shandor Remete, and Simon Borg Oliver, who inspired him with intense and dynamic types of Iyengar practices. To experiment further, he also took classes with B.K.S. Iyengar and studied Pranayama with Shandor Remete and B.N.S Iyengar. For 18 years Craig taught yoga in Sydney at various schools including North Sydney Yoga, Yoga Mat, Life & Balance and Yoga Moves as one of Eileen Hall’s first assistant teachers. He also taught dancers at Bangarra and Sydney Dance Companies for 10 years. Craig’s practice advanced to a level where he began to gain employment as a contortionist.


Abigail. Meditation was something that Abigail began to explore when she left England. During her travels she did a 10 day silent meditation retreat in India where she first began to experience true peace of mind. She then took another retreat in Israel and shortly afterwards began to guide meditations. Here she began to also bring together the techniques she had learned through expanding and fine tuning her psychic abilities and incorporate the Angels, Divine Feminine energy and love and light from the Universe. There are several meditations she guides. A heart opening, unconditional love and compassion meditation, a chakra balancing and cleansing meditation and a manifesting and abundance meditation to name a few… As with everything Abigail does, her meditations are a flow and synchronization of the group she is working with and nurture the needs of the group which vary from group to group. The aim is always the same, to provide peace of mind, deep relaxation, harmony, grounding, centering and balance.

    Learn the Rocket: Larry Schultz created the Rocket routine, a series of postures based on a modification of the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga primary and intermediate series. The perfect marriage of tempo and sequence. These advanced routines are appropriate for all levels levels of students. With plenty of ways to modify the classical poses, the benefits of the poses are transmitted equally to renew vitality and energy.

    This vibrant routine is called the “Rocket” because, “it gets you there faster.” The Rocket is designed to wake up the nervous system and feed it the precious prana it craves while promoting a spirit of change and freedom in the practice.

    Teach the Rocket: Our intensives our designed to share and breakdown the world famous Rocket Routines. They are physically awakening and mind soothing with enhanced drills, core routines and modifications to support students in deepening their experience with the advanced poses of the Ashtanga System. 10 day sessions break-down the Rocket 1 and 2 routines

    Purpose Statement: The Purpose of this training is to invite students into the mechanical brainwork of the Rocket Series. Appropriatly dubbed the “feel-good” routine, the sequence and philosophy are well thought out, and proven to be effective over years of experience practicing in this system. These ground-breaking routines approaches the Ashtanga Vinyasa system in an open, fun and challenging way.

This is an introduction to Vikasa Yoga, suitable for all levels of practice.  This is a rare opportunity to practice all-week long with the founder of Vikasa Yoga – Konstantin Miachin. Vikasa Yoga – “Evolution of Yoga” approach is based on integrating deep core work with precise alignment, combining active dynamic exercises from different disciplines with static poses from classic hatha yoga schools, alternating dynamic and static, pressure and deep relaxation, therefore exploring ha-tha or the yin and yang concept to its maximum potential, using the principle of hyper compensation.

This course is totally suitable for beginners, and for long time practitioners as well. You will receive a lot of personal attention during this course, and a personal program can be tailored for you upon request by Konstantin upon completion of the course.

    Konstantin Miachin is the founder of Vikasa Yoga and an international teacher. He has been passionately learning, practicing, and teaching Yoga since 2004, and his passion has lead him to search out his own personal development throughout the world. Kosta’s years of worldly experience have led to deeper understanding of yoga as a personal journey and spiritual evolution. On his journey he spent months in the ashrams of the remote Himalayan mountains, trained in a Muay Thai Boxing camp, was initiated by the master monk and has undergone a sacred Sak-Yant ceremony in a temple in North-East Thailand, practiced yoga everywhere and found his true passion in Koh Samui, Thailand.  Konstantin has completed teacher trainings and is certified in 4 different schools: Yoga 23 (Ukraine), Sivananda (India), Ashtanga Vinyasa (Thailand) and Andiappan Yoga (Hong Kong). Such an overwhelming wealth of knowledge has led to a deeper understanding of yoga practice as an ever evolving process – rather than a finalized system and the concept of “Evolution of Yoga” was born.
